Zakopane Workshops - Prevention and treatment of stroke in 2018 and in the following years
About the Project
On October 3rd, Eleven team took part in a new debuting event dedicated to interventional cardiologists, cardiac nurses and anesthesiologists at the Tytus Chałubiński Regional Hospital in Zakopane. The Zakopane Workshops - Prevention and treatment of stroke in 2018 and in the following years, organized on the fifth anniversary of performing the PFO closure in the local cardiology department, were supposed to introduce specialists to the problem of a stroke caused by a structural congenital defect, patent foramen ovale. The workshops began with a surgery session, when percutaneous procedures were successfully performed on five patients. Its progress straight was reported straight from the operating room by invited journalists.
Then participants took part in the lecture session with experts like: prof. Tomasz Grodzicki MD PhD, Vice-Rector of the Jagiellonian University for Medical College, prof. Dariusz Dudek MD PhD, President-Elect of the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions, Regina Tokarz, Director of the Tytus Chałubiński Regional Hospital in Zakopane, Małgorzata Czaplińska, Medical Director of the aforementioned hospital or Przemysław Węglarz MD PhD, cardiologist and member of the Zakopane PFO Team.
