New Frontiers in Interventional Cardiology 2017
About the Project
On December 6th-8th specialist international workshops New Frontiers in Interventional Cardiology was held in Krakow for the eighteenth time. It was dedicated primarily to cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and specialists in the field of angiology and radiology. The main organizer of NFIC was the Foundation for Medical Research in Krakow in cooperation with EuroPCR, European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions, Krakow Cardiovascular Research Institute and the Cardiovascular Center Foundation. The directors of the past event were Dariusz Dudek MD, PhD, FESC, Jacek Legutko MD, PhD and Krzysztof Żmudka MD, PhD, FESC - all three from the Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow.
During three days, over 1,000 specialists from around the world got acquainted with the most interesting technological innovations used in cardiology and cardiac surgery, summarized the most important industry events of this year and expressed their opinion on current systemic changes.
Throughout the workshops, all participants could see and discuss broadcasts from hospitals in Poland and around the world, where revolutionary TAVI and Mitraclip treatments were carried out. In addition, the audience saw precursory holograms of the heart using the augmented reality realized by Microsoft HoloLens glasses. Moreover, the experts debated on significant system changes regarding the beginning of the existence of KOS-zawał medical provision and the EU GDPR directive.
This year the project received honorary patronage of Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Marek Kuchciński, Marshal of the Senat of the Republic of Poland Stanisław Karczewski, The Marshal Office of the Małopolska Region, The Mayor of the City of Krakow Jacek Majchrowski, Polish Cardiac Society, National Institute of Public Health – National Institute of Hygiene, Economic Forum, Polish Chamber of Healtcare IT, Federation of Polish Patients and WE PATIENTS Foundation.
ELEVEN ZETT Productions was a partner and media organizer of the event. The agency also provided substantive support and organization of system sessions concerning the balance of Polish cardiology and the digitization of medicine in Poland.
