I Conference “Stopping the smog. Challenges and solutions for Poland”
About the Project
On March 7, 2018, the Eleven team organized I Conference “Stopping the smog. Challenges and solutions for Poland” in Uzdrowisko Ustroń Health Resort. The task was to develop new and comprehensive prescriptions of effective fight against air pollution and raise public awareness of health threats connected with it. During the event, interdisciplinary aspects of the issue were raised - medical (general health, impact on the cardiovascular and respiratory systems), legal (at the municipal, provincial, national and EU level), as well as technical.
The conference was divided into two main parts - a lecture session with expert comments and a debate of specialists in the field of healthcare management, national and local politicians, social activists and the doctors themselves. In total, the audience listened to six substantive lectures, including "Smog and heart attacks", "The influence of smog on the respiratory system of children" and "Danger of smog and the legal responsibility of the state towards citizens".
In summary, the event attracted over 100 participants and up to eleven media. The honorary patrons were: Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship, GZM Silesia, Economic Forum, President of the City of Katowice and Mayor of Ustroń.
The organisers of the conference were American Heart of Poland SA and Uzdrowisko Ustroń Health Resort SA. Eleven Zett Productions was responsible for the organization and media support of the event.
