Central Meeting of the Patient’s Clubs 2016

The V Central Meeting of the Patient’s Clubs and Heart Schools was held on December 7, 2016 in Krakow. Over 500 patients from southern and south-eastern Poland attended the event to take part in special workshops. They could participate in specialist consultations, lectures, a debate about the role of patient organisations, as well as a surprise lecture. For the past five years, cardiac patients who are members of the Patient’s Clubs and Heart Schools have been meeting within the framework of the annual Central Meeting in Krakow. Patients come from all over the Malopolska and Podkarpacie regions to jointly take part in educational events. The fifth Central Meeting featured a debate entitled "The role of patient organisations in creating a system of cardiology care and treatment" with the participation of representatives of decision-makers and renowned experts in cardiology and cardiac surgery. Patients also witnessed the world’s first demonstration of the application of HoloLens technology (augmented reality) in cardiology.
